Photography has been part of my history for as long as I can remember. Passed down by my parents, it became my passion, my profession, and my way of telling the tale of the bonds, the glances, and the emotions that unite us.
Lorie Diaz
A story of heritage and passion
I’m Lorie, daughter of photographers, professional portrait photographer. My parents opened their first shop in 1984, in Cavaillon, before settling in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in 1999.
My father captured countless sports stories, rallies in full action, athletics competitions, mountain filming, until the smiles of a summer wedding gently led him towards social photography.
Meanwhile, my mother developed memories in the lab and welcomed clients for ID photos or film purchases. In 2003, with my A-levels in hand, I spent a year finding my way. I enrolled in photography school on my father’s advice… and that’s where I found my calling.
I discovered studio portraiture, and it was a revelation.

I loved creating connection, revealing what lay in people’s eyes, bringing emotion to the surface. A CAP, then a BTM in photography: I trained in everything this profession involves: the technical side, of course, but also management, business, and human relationships. In 2007, I launched out on my own. And in 2011, I chose to go into partnership with my parents. Together, we accompanied hundreds of families, couples, and children through their precious moments, until their retirement in 2015.
Since then, I’ve carried on alone… now it’s my turn to make that light shine, the one they passed on to me. Today, every session is a story to write, a connection to create, an emotion to bring to life. It’s what I do best, and what makes me come alive.
